My son was diagnosed with Sensory Processing Disorder in December 2016. He did not have the symptoms of a baby with SPD . It wasn’t until about 9 months we noticed he wasn’t eating solid foods or clapping. By his 12 month doctor visit he wasn’t answering his name or giving eye contact. His doctor sent him to a therapist and he was diagnosed with Sensory Processing Disorder.
The journey with SPD has been difficult but I’m learning to understand patience. He is super smart and such a sweetheart. My advice to anyone is not to give up and remember your child has a disorder. However, the disorder is not your child. My son has to learn differently and I am learning patience.
